I'm turning 40 this year! I only have about 9 months left in my thirties and I can't believe it! Against my better judgment, I've decided to pull out all the stops this year and train for and complete at least one half marathon. David did it last year and I am hopeful I won't give up before I even start :). Unlike my husband who is internally motivated and in much better running condition than me, I don't enjoy running and find it annoying at best. But I "want" to like it. So a few weeks ago I got back into the gym. This week I finally think I'm serious. I ran 3 miles on yesterday and 3.25 miles today. For me that is huge. I'm actually kind of surprised that it wasn't completely dreadful...just sort of :). This morning I woke up with sore calves and a sore neck (strange I know). We are considering a half marathon in Atlanta in March. I am hoping to just cross the finish line in that one (if I get trained). My ultimate goal is to run the half in Montgomery which is a couple of weeks before my 40th birthday.
Will I stick with it? Stay tuned.
